Odorless E0 grade environmentally friendly particleboard (formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.050mg/m 3, climate chamber method) is one of the mainstream materials for whole house customized furniture due to its advantages of low formaldehyde emission, no odor, and balanced cost-effectiveness. It is suitable for various products such as cabinets, door panels, and functional components. The specific application scenarios and adaptation points are as follows:
1、 Core application scenario: Main materials for whole house customized furniture
1. Cabinet furniture (core application)
Wardrobe/Cloak Room: As the main frame, partition, and drawer side panel of the wardrobe, odorless E0 grade particleboard can prevent clothes from adsorbing odors, while low formaldehyde release protects the safety of close fitting clothes, especially suitable for enclosed spaces such as bedrooms. Paired with PUR edge sealing technology, it can further seal the end face of the board, preventing the emission of odors and formaldehyde.
Cabinet/Sideboard Cabinet: Used for the cabinet body part (non countertop) of cabinet floor cabinets and hanging cabinets, suitable for dry areas in the kitchen. It has strong nail holding force and can stably fix hardware such as hinges and baskets; Odorless properties prevent odors from mixing into ingredients during cooking, making it more suitable for kitchen and dining environments compared to traditional urea formaldehyde adhesive boards.
Bookcases/TV cabinets/foyer cabinets: These types of furniture are mostly placed in public areas such as living rooms and foyer. Odorless E0 grade particleboard will not produce pungent odors due to differences in space ventilation, and has uniform density and deformation resistance. It can carry heavy objects such as books and appliances for a long time, and is not prone to partition bending.
2. Door panel furniture (lightweight and adaptable)
Flat panel cabinet door/louvered cabinet door: For small-sized or minimalist style cabinet doors, choose high-density odorless E0 grade particleboard (density ≥ 650kg/m 3), and the surface can be treated with melamine veneer, PET film, matte paint, etc., balancing aesthetics and environmental protection. Compared to solid wood door panels, it has a higher cost-effectiveness and is less prone to cracking and deformation; Compared to ordinary particleboard with coarser particles, it has a finer texture and no odor emission.
Embedded cabinet door: used for embedded designs such as tatami mats and invisible doors, it will not cause stuffiness in enclosed spaces due to board odors, enhancing the living experience.
3. Functional customized furniture
Tatami/bay window cabinet: directly in contact with mattresses and seat cushions, odorless E0 grade particleboard can prevent odors from penetrating into soft furnishings, and its moisture resistance is better than ordinary particleboard (with moisture-proof veneer), suitable for use in humid areas in the south.
Customized furniture for children's rooms: Children's rooms have high requirements for environmental protection and odor. Odorless E0 grade particleboard can be used for children's wardrobes, desks, toy cabinets, etc. It has low formaldehyde release, reduces health risks, and has no odor to avoid affecting children's respiratory tract. It is a cost-effective choice for customized children's rooms (with sufficient budget and can be upgraded to ENF grade).
Balcony cabinet/storage cabinet: The balcony has high lighting, temperature and humidity changes, and the E0 grade particleboard is odorless. After weathering treatment, it is not easily affected by moisture or exposure to sunlight, and is suitable for storing miscellaneous items, cleaning tools, etc.
2、 Application precautions (key to avoiding pitfalls)
Avoid direct use in damp areas: Although odorless E0 grade particleboard has better moisture resistance than ordinary boards, it is still not suitable for direct use as kitchen countertops or bathroom cabinets. It needs to be equipped with protective measures such as quartz countertops and waterproof aluminum foil backboards.
Identify the testing report: When purchasing, it is necessary to verify the E0 level testing report of the board, clearly label it as "formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.050mg/m 3 (climate chamber method)" and "odorless formula", to avoid confusion between "E0 level" and "odorless" concepts for businesses.
The edge sealing process determines the experience: even for excellent odorless E0 grade particleboard, if the edge sealing is not tight (such as hot melt adhesive edge sealing), the end face may still release trace amounts of formaldehyde or produce sawdust odor.
